Role Overview
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the CFO and Management Accountant by providing accurate and timely financial information essential for business growth. You will be a key member of the finance team, closely collaborating with colleagues to enhance your skills and the quality of your work. Your responsibilities will include distilling complex financial data into actionable insights for decision-makers across the business. Key Responsibilities
* Support the CFO and Management Accountant with day-to-day financial operations.
* Ensure accurate and timely posting of all transactions to Sage 50 and update relevant loan books.
* Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain covenant compliance for loan books.
* Review and reconcile the loan book at month-end, making necessary adjustments.
* Prepare redemption statements and statements of accounts for borrowers.
* Assist with the implementation and quality assurance of a new CRM system.
* Build rapport with external stakeholders and create monthly investor statements.
* Participate in regular 1:1 meetings with your line manager to discuss progress and development.
What We’re Looking For
- AAT Level 4 Qualified.
* Exposure to specialist lending is an advantage.
* Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine care for the specifics of each loan.
* Strong curiosity and analytical mindset to uncover the true story behind financial performance.
* Excellent commercial instincts and understanding of key business drivers.
* Motivation and enthusiasm for continuous skill development and career progression.
Outcomes in Your Role
Within 3 months:
* Complete induction and meet all team members.
* Gain proficiency in Sage 50 and daily bank reconciliations.
* Accurately post transactions and update loan books.
* Ensure loan books are accurate and covenant compliant.
* Establish regular 1:1s with your line manager.
Within 3 to 9 months:
* Accurately prepare redemption statements and borrower statements of accounts.
* Support the implementation and quality assurance of the new CRM system.
* Establish rapport with external stakeholders and deliver monthly investor statements.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £30,000 per annum (DOE) plus discretionary annual bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)
